THE SINFUL DWARF is super low budget, grainy, badly lit, sexually deviant, repulsive, Danish-made masterpiece. Well, maybe not quite a masterpiece, but pretty close. I can't decide if it's a sexploitation movie/ dark comedy or just a creepy horror movie. Maybe it's both, maybe that's why I like it so much and maybe I'm fucked in the head. The answer is D, all of the above.

The film starts out with a little girl (an adult woman, playing a pre-teen...creepy) playing hopscotch, when a limping dwarf with a cane walks up and shows her one of those robotic dogs...you know the ones that bark and do a flip? He lures her back to the attic in his house and we're shown one of the oddest opening credits I've ever seen. I knew after that, I may be in for something good.

Turns out the dwarf lives at a boarding house that his creepy mother runs (I'll say creepy a few more times in this review). A young British couple rent a room at the creepy (see!) old house, because there's nothing else available. The house is disgusting, old and run by weirdoes, but of course, the couple fuck like monkeys that night - all while the horny dwarf watches through a hole in the wall and leers at them like a pint-sized lunatic the whole time. Never rubbing his crotch...but rubbing his chest. Now, that's some creepy shit!

Now, what makes me lean towards thinking THE SINFUL DWARF is a sexploitation comedy is the fact that the sex scenes in the film are as explicit as you can get without going triple X. I also think that the actors in the scenes may actually be fucking! Yes, they are that explicit and looong. Not porno long, but longer than they should be--I'm not complaining, I'm just sayin'.

Soon we find out that Olaf the Dwarf and his has-been lounge singer Mommy, keep girls locked up in the attic and use them as slave prostitutes. How does an old lady and a midget keep 3 women from escaping? They dope them up with heroin and a drug dealer named Santa Clause provides the H. The girls get so strung out they don't know where they are - or that they're being raped! The bulk of the sex scenes are the slave girls getting it on with trench coat wearing Johns. The sick and wrong part of all that is, how the movie shows the women getting into the rapes. Like, they're so high on heroin that they don't even give a fuck. This movie is so wrong in so many ways - I love it.

Olaf and his Mommy's plans go south when they end up kidnapping the British woman while the husband is away - he gets a job as a delivery man for a toy maker named...Santa Clause! The plot, it does thicken! See, the woman had a very bad feeling about the place, you may even say she had a 'gut feeling' and she snoops out the attic. Right as she finds out the secret of the attic, she is caught and turned into a sex slave.

Will Olaf and his Mommy get away with their heinous crimes? Will the British lady with the perfect rack, escape? Do you give a fuck? Oh, and if you're wondering, no, there is no midget sex. Olaf keeps his clothes on. I knew you wanted to see midget wang! You sick fucks.

This movie features no stars, a director who went on to do...what did he do again? Oh yeah, nothing. Though somehow, it all works. Olaf the Dwarf is genuinely creepy and talks and says creepy shit ("I have more toys...in the attic"). The mother is scary as well. She's old, but you can tell she was attractive when she was young, too bad about that disfiguring scar on her cheek. Really, it's the boarding house that steals the show with its big time creep factor. The lack of good lighting in the film works, it just makes the house that much more dark and scary. It reminded me of a Hershell Gordon Lewis movie, mixed with some early John Waters sleaze. Also, if you enjoy Troma films, you'd probably get a kick out of THE SINFUL DWARF. For all its tongue-in-cheek humor, it does deliver on suspense too. There is a scene where the British chick is hiding from the Mother in a closet that reminded me a lot of the closet scene in HALLOWEEN.

THE SINFUL DWARF has almost everything you'd expect from a bad movie, except it's not boring, it's certainly original and not afraid to push the limits. I dug it.
