There really isn’t all that much I have to say about myself. I won’t bore you with a tedious description of my day to day or my past. What was before is not anymore and therefore irrelevant. I love film and have a special affinity for a lot of stuff that others find stupid or pointless. Bad movies have a certain integrity that I find lacking in big budget productions. B films don’t aspire to be anything other than what they are and this lends them an appeal I find to be both honest and refreshing. I also love foreign genre cinema and have been known to spend a lot of time reading my TV. Don’t be a dumbass it’s a big world and there are talented people everywhere making great films that most people wont watch because they are resistant to having to read, pathetic.
I read a lot of books, fiction, non-fiction; I don’t care as long as it is interesting. Stephen King, Lord Byron, Clive Barker, Jim Carroll, Henry Rollins, Thomas Paine, Leigh Hunt, Percy Shelley, Exene Cervenka, Lydia Lunch, Jack Ketchum, Kevin Smith, Mary Shelley, and the list goes on and on.
I love music and believe that you cannot really call yourself a fan of music unless you listen to a little bit of every style. I have my bias to be sure, heavy rock and punk, real punk, are generally what I choose but I never count anything out until I have sat and listened thoroughly to what the artist is trying to say. Some of my favorites include Ramones, Motorhead, Jeff Beck, Dixie Chicks, Social Distortion, Igor Stravinsky, Johnny Cash, Rob Zombie, Rage against the Machine, System of a Down, the Rollins Band, AC\DC, Aerosmith, Steve Earle, Girlschool, Emmylou Harris, Foghat, Serj Tankian, the Clash, Sick of it All, Kiri TeKanawa, Lucinda Williams, and so forth.
I have two daughters, Tori, and Linnea who put up with their bizarre father even when I don’t understand the simplest technology. I am married to a fuckin cool woman, Anastasia, who also puts up with all my idiosyncrasies and accepts me for the freak I am. I have a father and son pair of English Mastiffs, Byron and Trelawney and a horse I named Kurosawa after the master of Japanese cinema.
And last but not least my film collection which obsessively stands somewhere near two thousand titles.
This is who I am and you now no more about me than you probably ever wanted to know in the first place.
